6V CITY COUNCIL <br />TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING <br />August 18, 1969 <br />REEL 19, SIDE 1 - TRACK 2 -- FOOTAGE 00 - 1394 <br />Mayor Wm. Ross Aiken called the Regular Meeting of the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to order at 7:50 P. M. in the Council Chambers of <br />the Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, with the following <br />members answering roll call: Present: Councilmen Benson, Davey, Fowle, <br />Helgesson, Mayor Aiken. Absent: None. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE: Commissioner Thomas P. McReynolds <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: August 4, 1969. <br />Councilman Benson moved, seconded by Helgesson, that the Minutes of <br />August 4, 1969 be approved as submitted, was carried by majority voice vote, <br />Councilmen Davey and Fowle abstaining. <br />COMMUNICATIONS• <br />Assistant City Manager reviewed the following: <br />1. Frances K. Dias, Chairman, Planning & Procedures Committee of the Palo <br />Alto City Council, inviting Mayor and Town representatives to attend its <br />meeting on Wednesday evening, August 20 at 7:30 P. M. re design features of <br />Arastradero Road. <br />Mayor Aiken requested Staff to convey this invitation to the Planning <br />Commission and urged Councilmen to attend. Staff noted the Town Planner will <br />be available Wednesday, August 20, 2:00 P. M., at the Town Hall, to brief <br />Council and Commission representatives. <br />2. Mrs. Donald E. Spencer, President, Los Altos Hills Association, dated <br />August 17, 1969, supporting opposition to the types of development reportedly <br />under consideration by Palo Alto and Stanford University in close proximity <br />to Los Altos Hills and encouraging that a buffer zone be maintained. <br />3. J. S. Farwell, Fire Marshal, City of Los Altos, dated July 29, 1969, <br />recommending adoption of amendments to Los Altos Hills Ordinance No. 105 <br />(Fire Ordinance) re presence of wild grass and the establishment of fire <br />breaks, with penalties for failure to comply thereto. <br />Council concurred that this communication should be agended for the <br />September 2nd meeting and that Fire Marshal Farwell be invited to attend. <br />City Attorney was instructed to review existing ordinance and prepare an <br />appropriate amendment for possible first reading. <br />4. H. A. Neidhart, 10779 Magdalena Avenue, dated August 13, 1969, requesting <br />Town installation of a fence removed from his property. <br />Council concurred this commvnicati.on should be agended for the September 2nd <br />meeting. <br />
