COMMUNICATIONS (Cont'd.): <br />2. Traffic Islands on Elena Road - Furissima School. <br />Councilman Aiken read letter dated January 25, 1965 addressed <br />to City Council wherein a recommendation of both the Purissima <br />and Bullis Parent Groups strongly stressed that no changes be <br />made in the traffic arrangement on Elena Road in front of <br />Furissima School. <br />Councilman Aiken stated he also had numerous calls requesting <br />the islands be removed as they were believed to be the cause <br />of-anumber of accidents.- <br />- Therefore, it was the recommendation of Councilman Aiken that <br />at the earliest moment the permanent traffic committee is <br />appointed, that this matter be presented to them for their <br />study. In the meantime, Councilman Aiken recommended''the City <br />Manager forward this request to the present Traffic Committee <br />for study .and that no drastic measures be taken by the Town <br />before an exhaustive study is completed. <br />The Council was in completeagreement. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />1. Inter -City Council Meeting, Thursday, February 4, 1965: <br />Host City -.-Santa-Clara. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS: <br />1.. Proposed Covenant for Private Roads. <br />Commissioner Hawley reported that this is one of number of <br />items to be considered by the Planning Commission for the <br />comingyear, but he would. endeavor to submit a report at the <br />next Council meeting. <br />- <br />OLDBUSINESS: <br />1. Path Construction Priority List <br />Councilman Aiken reported he had a number ofrequests for. <br />paths on portions of Magdalena Road and was of the opinion <br />that in certain areas where the road narrowed that widening <br />of the shoulder would be the solution to this dangerous situation. <br />Councilman Aiken will prepare a list of the specific areas in <br />order that the Staff may make an inspection.. <br />2- <br />
