:COMMUNIC&TIONS (Cont'd.): - <br />6. Atelephone communication was received by Acting City Manager <br />Smith from Mr. C. Cathcart stating he and Mr. L. Bledsoe <br />would report at the July 6th Council Meeting regarding the - <br />Citizens' Committee. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />1. Councilman Bowler reported on the Joint Meeting of the Mass <br />Transportation Committee/Trafficways Committee held June lei,. <br />1965• Independent resolutions were unanimously approved -- <br />recommending to the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County <br />that the transportation planningstudy be undertaken. <br />A copy of thewrittenreport is available at the Town Hall <br />for -those -having commitments throughout the Bay area and <br />Santa Clara County with an interest in data on mass movements, <br />etc. <br />2. Councilman Aiken submitted a proposed procedure for the <br />conduct of the proceedings of the Citizens' Committee, with <br />the hope that these guidelines would be of some help. <br />Mayor Henley will forward the communication to the Committee <br />Members. <br />PUBLIC HEP.RING: <br />1, Bellucci, David (UP -220-65)- Swimming Pool and Locker Rooms <br />Los Altos Hills Country Club. <br />Acting City Manager read letter dated June 15, 1965 from <br />Richard W. Towle,President of the Los Altos Hills Association, <br />supporting the tentative position taken by the Council at its - <br />June- 7't meeting. <br />The Mayor opened the Public Hearing at 8;17 P. T1., and called <br />on Mr. Bellucci to state his position. <br />Mr. Bellucci reviewed. the background of AdobeCreekLodge, <br />and of his plans to eventually phase out the picnic business <br />by increasing the private club membership with these additional <br />facilities to carry the financial :burden. Without the pool, <br />the only other alternative would be to resort wholly. to the <br />picnic operation. <br />Mr. Bellucci further stated, while he did not believeit was <br />possible to obtain a written statement from the noteholders, <br />- he would be willing to sign a statement that the granting of <br />these -facilities would not be a means of extending the non- <br />conforming .use; however, this would not be binding on the <br />other interested owners. <br />_3_ <br />
