Report on E1 Monte =Free_w.ay Interchange pedestrian Traffic <br />Means. <br />Councilman Aiken presented and read a written report dated <br />April 21, 1964, retarding his meeting with State Higin;ay <br />Ingineers on the E1 Monte over ass and. signalization. <br />ACTIO`?: <br />That the Council authorize the Filing of a <br />formal request with the Highsay Department <br />requesting that the median stria under the <br />71 Monte underpass be fenced and used for <br />pedestrian traffic. In this regard, it is <br />necessary to indicate in the request that <br />the signals at each end of this section of the <br />median strip will be put in retardless of the <br />use of the median strip; also, <br />That the Town inform St. Nicholas School of <br />the necessity for a crossing guard and con- <br />tinued safety education by the school and <br />parents. <br />MOTION: Aiken; SECOND: Fowler; VCT Passed unanimously. <br />ACT^ION: <br />That authorization be given to the County to <br />proceed with the design and construction of <br />signals at the entrance to Foothill College on <br />E1 Sponte.
