SCHEDULED ITEMS CONTINUED <br />Episcopal Laymen's Group o£ Los altos (UP -259-66) - Request to <br />convert old Paris sima School to Chapel. <br />/ In contemplating action on the subject application, Councilman <br />Bowler made reference to the 1963 Revision of the General Plan <br />pertaining to land use policy limiting non-residential uses. <br />Councilman Bowler stated for the record that any approvalof a <br />small rural chapel, which would particularly satisfy the needs of <br />the residents in the immediate vicinity, is not to be confused with <br />the large, metropolitan type institution. Ne made clear that the <br />General Flan does not inhibit freedom of worship or discriminate <br />against denominations. <br />Councilman Davey suggested a plaque be placed on the Chapel stat- <br />ing it was the Town s first meeting place. <br />ACTION: <br />That the request of the Episcopal Laymen's Group of <br />Los '.ltos (UP -259-66) be approved, subject to the <br />conditions as recommended by the Planning Commission. <br />MOTION: Liken; SECOND: Davey; VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />UNSCHEDULED ITEMS: <br />L appointment of Deputy Mayor. <br />Councilman Davey nominated Councilman Gordon E. Bowler for the <br />office of Deputy Mayor. <br />SCTION: <br />That nominations be closed and that a ldhite Ballot <br />be cast for Mr. Bowler for the office of Deputy <br />Mayor for one year to July 6, 1967. <br />MOTION: Davey; SECOND: Fowle; VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />At 8:56 P. M., Mayor Henley excused himself and relinquished the <br />Chair to Deputy Mayor Bowler. <br />2. RustzH_S. - Request for In lieu payment of road improvements, <br />Tract No. 4052. <br />Engr. Cook verbally reported he could find no justification <br />for the Town to receive an in lieu payment since Camino <br />Hermoso is the only city -owned street in the immediate area, <br />thereby restricting the purpose of an in lieu payment, and <br />recommended the request be denied. <br />ACTION: <br />That the request of H. S. Rust be denied, and <br />that the bond be renewed for one year, subject <br />to the approval of the bonding agency. <br />IOTION: Aiken; SECOND: Fowle; VOTE: Passed unanimously. <br />-3- <br />
