f -- ;_ I - RESOLUTION NO . 1620 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS WITHDRAWING AS A MEMBER OF THE NORTH SANTA CLARA COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills , County of Santa Clara, State of California, that WHEREAS , the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills is a member of. the North Santa Clara County Solid Waste Management Authority (herein called the "AUTHORITY") , and a signatory of the Joint Exercise of Powers Agree- ment (herein called "AGREEMENT") , by which the AUTHORITY was established; and WHEREAS , the AGREEMENT provides a procedure whereby a member may withdraw from the AUTHORITY and terminate the AGREEMENT ; and WHEREAS , the City Council has determined that it would be in the best interests of its citizens and residents that the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills withdraw from membership in the AUTHORITY, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of the Town of Los If Altos Hills does hereby order as follows : 1 . The City of the Town of Los Altos Hills shall withdraw from membership in the North Santa Clara County Solid Waste Management Authority, said withdrawal to be effective at 12 : 01 A.M. on July Ol ,: 1984 . 2 . The City Clerk of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills is hereby directed and ordered to transmit a certified copy of the within Resolution which shall constitute the notice in writing required to be given pursuant to Section B of Article IV of the AGREEMENT , to each of the following: the North Santa Clara County Solid Waste Manage- ment Board, which is the governing board of the AUTHORITY, and to the . following cities , namely, Cupertino , Los Altos , Palo Alto and Sunnyvale.
