411 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1436 <br /> A RESOLUTION ORDERING TERMINATION OF THE AGREEEMENT <br /> BETWEEN GORDON PENFOLD AND THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF <br /> LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of the Town of Los <br /> Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that <br /> WHEREAS, on or about October 21, 1981 , the City of the Town <br /> of Los Altos Hills (herein called "TOWN" ) entered into an Agreement <br /> whereby the TOWN appointed Gordon Penfold (herein called "PENFOLD") <br /> as Director of Public Safety and specifying therein the duties to <br /> be performed and the compensation to be paid; and <br /> WHEREAS, although prior thereto the TOWN had created an <br /> administrative unit of its municipal government called the Los <br /> Altos Hills Public Safety Department, subsequent thereto the voters <br /> of the TOWN defeated a Measure which would have permitted the City <br /> Council to establish and maintain a Public Safety Department, and <br /> the voters of the TOWN adopted an Initiative Ordinance requiring <br /> that police, fire and emergency medical services continue to be <br /> provided at the present level of service or better within the TOWN <br /> by way of contracts with public agencies other than the TOWN unless <br /> the electors approve furnishing of any of these services by the <br /> TOWN itself; and <br /> WHEREAS, subsequent thereto the City Council adopted a Resolution <br /> rescinding the Resolution whereby the Public Safety Department had <br /> been created; and <br />
