RESOLUTION 09-16 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS <br /> EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR COMBATTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING <br /> WHEREAS,the crime of human trafficking is present in every country and state; and <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California and its communities are considered to be receptor sites for <br /> trafficking due to economic conditions and proximity to international borders; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Bureau of Investigations has identified the San Francisco Bay Area as <br /> one of the top 13 sites for child sex trafficking in the country and the National Human <br /> Trafficking Hotline receives more calls from California than from any other state; and <br /> WHEREAS, Super Bowl 50 provides an opportunity for cities and counties in the Bay Area to <br /> increase their efforts to respond to human trafficking; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills desires to do its part to combat human trafficking in <br /> the local community and throughout California and the nation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> that the Town will assist local agencies in identifying populations that are vulnerable to the crime <br /> of human trafficking. <br /> The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills at a special meeting held on the 27th day of January, 2016 by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Harpootlian, Waldeck, Corrigan, Radford <br /> NOES: Spreen <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> BY: <br /> 61ohn Harpootlian, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Deborah Padovan, City Clerk <br /> Resolution 09-16 Page I <br />
