ORDINANCE NO. 302
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
AMENDING CHAPTER 5 ENTITLED "ZONING"
OF TITLE 9 OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE
TO AMEND ARTICLES 2 AND 5 THEREOF ENTITLED
"DEFINITIONS," AND "AREA, COVERAGE, HEIGHT AND
SETBACK LIMITATIONS," RESPECTIVELY
The City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. FINDINGS AND DECLARATION OF INTENT.
The City Council Finds:
(a) There is increased usage of both conventional size and
larger size antennas for residential reception and transmission of
electronic communications signals throughout the City of the Town of
Los Altos Hills, and that the improvement of communications technology
will generate increasing demand for such antennas which, unless their
placement and appearance is reasonably regulated, will have a negative
effect on the appearance and safety of the community.
(b) Reasonable regulation of the placement and appearance of
such antennas, in a manner recognizing the utility and benefits of such
devices, will serve to advance the aesthetic and safety objectives set
forth in the Los Altos Hills General Plan by, among other things, avoid-
ing obstructions of traffic signs, driveway traffic, and motorists'
vision generally, by avoiding unsightly conditions within residential
neighborhoods, and by avoiding unsafe placement of larger antennas where
they would pose a risk of personal injury or property damage due to high
winds or other causes.
