b+ J <br />thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed <br />$500.00 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for <br />not to exceed six (6) months, or both fine and <br />imprisonment. Each separate day or any portion <br />thereof during which any violation and non-compliance, <br />respectively, of the Fire Code occurs or continues <br />shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense, <br />and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable <br />as herein provided. The issuance or granting of <br />a permit shall not be deemed or construed to be a <br />permit for, or an approval of, any violation of <br />any of the provisions of the Fire Code. <br />The imposition of one penalty for any violation <br />shall not excuse the violation or permit it to <br />continue; and all such persons shall be required <br />to correct or remedy such violations or defects <br />within a reasonable time; and when not otherwise <br />specified, each ten days that prohibited conditions <br />are maintained shall constitute a separate offense. <br />(b) The application of the above penalty shall not be <br />held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited <br />conditions. <br />SECTION 2. VALIDITY. <br />The City of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby declares that <br />should any section, paragraph, sentence, or word of this Ordinance <br />or of the Uniform Fire Code hereby adopted be declared for any reason <br />to be invalid, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of <br />the Town of Los Altos Hills that it would have passed all other por- <br />tions of this Ordinance independent of the elimination herefrom of <br />any such portion as may be declared invalid. <br />SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />1981. <br />This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on November 15, <br />-5- <br />
