ORDINANCE NO. 296 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF <br />LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 1 <br />ENTITLED "ANIMALS" OF TITLE 6 OF THE <br />LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE <br />The City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills, <br />County of Santa Clara, State of California, DOES ORDAIN as follows: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. <br />Section 6-1.104(1) hereby is added to Article 1 of Chapter 1 of <br />Title 6 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code to read as follows: <br />Section 6-1.104(1). ADDITION OF SECTION B4-14; <br />Animals and Vehicles <br />Section B4-14 is hereby added to the Animal Control Code to <br />read as follows: <br />Section B4-14. Animals and Vehicles <br />(a) No person, other than an individual then actually in the <br />process of working a dog or other animal for ranching purposes, shall <br />transport or carry the animal in a motor vehicle on any public highway <br />or public roadway, unless the animal is safely enclosed within the <br />vehicle by means of a container, cage or other device which will pre- <br />vent the animal from falling from, jumping from, or being thrown from <br />the motor vehicle. <br />(b) No person shall leave any dog or other animal in an unattended <br />motor vehicle without adequate ventilation or in such manner as to <br />subject the animal to extreme temperatures which may adversely affect <br />the health or well-being of the animal. <br />
