ORDINANCE NO. 296 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AMENDING ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 1 ENTITLED "ANIMALS" OF TITLE 6 OF THE LOS ALTOS HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE The City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of California, DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Section 6-1.104(1) hereby is added to Article 1 of Chapter 1 of Title 6 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code to read as follows: Section 6-1.104(1). ADDITION OF SECTION B4-14; Animals and Vehicles Section B4-14 is hereby added to the Animal Control Code to read as follows: Section B4-14. Animals and Vehicles (a) No person, other than an individual then actually in the process of working a dog or other animal for ranching purposes, shall transport or carry the animal in a motor vehicle on any public highway or public roadway, unless the animal is safely enclosed within the vehicle by means of a container, cage or other device which will pre- vent the animal from falling from, jumping from, or being thrown from the motor vehicle. (b) No person shall leave any dog or other animal in an unattended motor vehicle without adequate ventilation or in such manner as to subject the animal to extreme temperatures which may adversely affect the health or well-being of the animal.
