• • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1053 <br /> A RESOLUTION RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN JOINT LIABILITY INSURANCE <br /> STUDY BY THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Inter-City Council referred to the City <br /> Managers' Association the examination of the various aspects of the liability <br /> insurance problem, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Managers' Association appointed a committee of city <br /> and county staff representatives to develop such a report which subsequently <br /> was approved by the City. Managers' Association, and <br /> WHEREAS, this report recommends that Santa Clara County Cities and the <br /> County jointly fund a study regarding the establishment of a self-insurance <br /> program, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Inter-City Council has authorized staff <br /> to prepare a mutual contract and circulate it amongst the cities and the County <br /> for their approval of the study and determine how much each City would pay, <br /> based upon each jurisdiction's population, <br /> BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT the Town of Los Altos Hills approves <br /> participation in a joint cities-county self-insurance study that will examine <br /> the following aspects of the liability insurance problem: <br /> I . An actuary study to establish funding needs for excess exposure. <br /> 2. The method of pooling to be used. <br /> 3. Funding technique to be used. <br /> 4. Type of management structure best to administer the proposed program. <br /> 5. Examine the possible levels of coverage and corresponding contributions. <br /> 6. Advise on other Risk Management areas that might be cooperatively <br /> undertaken by the cities and the County, and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE Town of Los Altos Hills approves a <br /> maximum of $125 as its share of the joint Liability Insurance Study; said share <br /> to be contributed only if all of the cities and the County participate in the <br /> study. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the selection of consultant, consultant costs <br /> to a maximum of $20,000, and the performance of the consultant be the charge of <br /> the Liability Insurance Subcommittee of the City Managers' Association. <br />
