• • RESOLUTION NO. 1011 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ENDORSING THE POLICY AND ACTION PLAN FOR A NORTH COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SYSTEM PREPARED BY THE NORTH COUNTY CITIES SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT STUDY GROUP WHEREAS, the CityCouncil of the Cityof the Town of Los Altos Hills recognizes that the disposal of solid waste is one of its most critical problems in the next several years; and WHEREAS, the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills on numerous occassions has expressed its concern over the diminishing availability of landfill sites for solid waste disposaland its desire to recover valuable energy and material resources from solid waste; and WHEREAS, the City of the Town of Los Altos Hills by Resolution Numbers 915 and 1007 passed on November 5, 1975 and November 3, 1976, respectively, approved the solid waste management plan for Santa Clara County and the addendum thereto, and recognized the need for joint action by the City and its neighboring Communities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of the Town of Los Altos. Hills does hereby declare the following:' 1. The. City Council hereby endorses the general policy and approach to solid waste disposal and processing as presented in the December 16, 1976 memorandum entitled "Policy and Action Plan for North County Solid Waste Disposal System - Revision I" developed by the North County Cities Solid Waste ManagementStudyGroup. 2. The City Council hereby expresses its intention to commit its appropriate share of Council , Staff, and financial resources necessary to promote the successful and expedient implementation of the proposed program.
