said County Ordinance Code. <br />SECTION : This Ordinance shall take effect immediately <br />upon its passage as an emergency measure, being necessary for the <br />immediate protection of the public health, safety and welfare of <br />the inhabitants of the Town of Los Altos Hills for the following <br />reasons; <br />The Department of Public Health of the State of California <br />has found that rabies exists in the County of Santa Clara end pursu- <br />and to law has declared the county a rabies endemic area. To pre- <br />vent the spread of rabies among aiimals, and to avoid the possibility <br />of human beings becoming infected with the disease, it is imperative <br />that all dogs in the Town of Los Altos Hills be vaccinated with <br />anti -rabies vaccine. It is necessary that this ordinance take effect <br />at the earliest possible moment to reduce the aboveodescribed danger <br />of infection and spread of rabies among animals and, possibly, human <br />beings, and to eliminate the aforementioned hazards which threaten <br />the public peace, health, and safety. <br />SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be posted in three (3) <br />public places in the Town of Los -Altos Hills and shall take effect <br />immediately upon passage. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the Town of <br />Los Altos Hills this 9th day of July 1956, by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowls, Rothwell, <br />Mayor Treat <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ATTEST: <br />' <br />ity Clerk <br />CERTIFIED <br />C <br />- 2 - <br />
