RESOLUTION NO. 22-10 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ORDERING <br /> AND CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO FILL TWO CITY <br /> COUNCIL SEATS; REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF ELECTIONS WITH THE <br /> ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 2010; REQUESTING THE SERVICES <br /> OF THE REGISTRAR OF VOTERS; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF THE ELECTION; <br /> AND ADOPTING UNIFORM POLICIES PERTAINING TO CANDIDATE <br /> STATEMENTS AND FEES <br /> WHEREAS, California Elections Code Section 10400 provides that a City Council may <br /> request that a county board of supervisors consolidate a general municipal election with the <br /> Statewide General Election; and <br /> WHEREAS, the term of two members of the City Council are due to expire and the <br /> positions must be filled; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 12109 of the California Elections Code provides that the elections <br /> official conducting the election shall give notice of the designation of a central counting place for <br /> the voted ballots of the Town of Los Altos Hills General Municipal Election. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS <br /> HILLS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The City Council hereby calls for a General Municipal Election in and for the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills on Tuesday,November 2, 2010, for the purpose of electing two (2) <br /> Councilmembers, each for a full term of four(4) years. <br /> 2. Pursuant to Sections 10400, 10402, and 10403 of the California Elections Code, it is in <br /> the best interest of the public to consolidate the Los Altos Hills General Municipal <br /> Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on November 2, 2010. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: <br /> 1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara("Board of Supervisors") is <br /> requested to consolidate the Town of Los Altos Hills General Municipal Election with <br /> the Statewide Election on November 2, 2010, for two (2) City Council seats. <br /> 2. That the Board of Supervisors is requested to make available the services of the Registrar <br /> of Voters of the County of Santa Clara("Registrar of Voters") for the purpose of <br /> providing the usual services necessary in the conduct of said election, including the <br /> provision of election supplies and voter pamphlets. <br />
