411 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 718 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS <br /> ALTOS HILLS COMMENDING THE NATIONAL AERONAUTICS <br /> AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION ON ITS FIFTEENTH BIRTHDAY <br /> WHEREAS, the National Aeronautics. and Space Administration, <br /> Moffett Field, is one of the ten major NASA field laboratories <br /> concerned with the United States space program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Center has the largest, fastest and most unique <br /> of wind tunnels in the world; a major new tool at Ames Research <br /> Center soon to beoperational is the ILLIAC IV Computer, which is <br /> also the largest and fastest in the world and which will be used <br /> to solve problems which have previously defied solution: aircraft <br /> designs and an understanding of atmospheric pollutant dispersion, <br /> and other research activities include: Avionics, Advanced Simulation <br /> Science, Space Sciences, Fluid Dynamics, Atmospheric Entry Technology, <br /> Infared Astronomy, Advanced Computational Science, Earth Resources <br /> Surveys, Planetary Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Planetary <br /> Missions and Advanced Theoretical Studies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the week of October 1 through 6, 1973 has been set <br /> aside as NASA WEEK honoring their fifteenth birthday; and <br /> WHEREAS, a NASA Anniversary Committee has been formed to <br /> formulate plans to honor NASA and their contributions to the <br /> betterment of mankind. NASA is an integral part and a major <br /> employer in Santa .
