Ordinance No. 96 An Ordinance of the Town of Los Altos Hills <br /> amending Ordinance No. 88 of said Town, by adding thereto a new <br /> Section providing for Variances in Certain Cases. Second Reading. <br /> The City Attorney read the title of Ordinance No. 96. <br /> Councilman Henley moved that further reading be waived ; however, <br /> the motion was withdrawn at the request of Councilman Bowler in <br /> order to further review the intent of the Amendment . <br /> The City Attorney read, in its entirety, Ordinance No. 96. <br /> ACTI ON: <br /> Adopt Ordinance No. 96 as read. <br /> MOTION: Bowler; SECOND: Aiken <br /> The Mayor asked for discussion. <br /> Chairman Hawley asked the Council that the Planning Commission be <br /> given some criterion to determine the extent of hardship cases <br /> in order to grant a variance . <br /> ) It was the opinion of Councilman Aiken that hardship cases occur <br /> because of the transition from overhead to underground utilities, <br /> and that in time , the need for variances would lessen. <br /> It was suggested by Councilman Henley that Ordinance No. 96 be <br /> amended in such a manner that its provisions wouldbe null and <br /> void after a transitory period of one year.
