1. This Council, and it hereby, respectfully memorializes <br /> the California Legislature to provide meaningful tax relief for <br /> the homeowner by enacting legislation for tax reform which embodies <br /> a balanced revenue program to meet the ongoing needs of cities . <br /> 2 . This Council, and it hereby, endorses the position taken <br /> by the League of California Cities by resolution adopted at its <br /> annual conference in San Diego in October, 1970, and pledges its <br /> support in developing a positive program for municipal revenue <br /> needs . <br /> 3 . The City Clerk be, and he is hereby, ordered to cause <br /> a copy of this resolution to be sent to the representatives of <br /> the Town in the United States Senate and House of Representatives , <br /> to the Governor and to the League of California Cities as an <br /> indication to each that insofar as this Council is concerned, <br /> without proper and adequate tax reform during this legislative <br /> session, many programs for urban living and preservation of the <br /> environment which have been given much legislative attention and <br /> publicity will fail because the homeowner can no longer carry the <br /> burden of financing local government through the property tax. <br /> ir <br /> * * * * <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed <br /> and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the Town <br /> of Los Altos Hills on February 1, 1971, by the following roll <br /> call vote: <br /> AYES : Councilmen Corbett, Davey, Grabowski, Helgesson and <br /> Mayor Benson <br /> NOES : None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ATTEST: <br /> APPROVED: <br /> ‘ <br /> <br /> /�/(�� ,�..� City I lerk <br /> Mayo. . . ► <br /> ROBIN D.
