Upton, Blake - Request for Revision of Fremont Hills Unit No. 6. <br /> Postponed. <br /> 7. Santa Fe Railroad - Request fox` Support of Acquisition of Control <br /> of the Western Pacific Railroad. <br /> Mr. Raymond N. Jarl and Mr. John E. Eisemann, representatives of <br /> the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. , were present and <br /> distributed literature supporting acquisition of control of the <br /> Western Pacific Railroad by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rwy. <br /> Co. Mr. Jarl discussed reasons for supporting the A. T. a S.F. <br /> and answered questions asked by Councilmen. <br /> Mr. Jarl requested the Council to adopt a resolution in support of <br /> acquisition of control of the Western Pacific Railroad by the <br /> Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. and opposing acquisition <br /> of the Western Pacific Railroad by the Southern Pacific Railroad. <br /> After discussion by the Mayor and Councilmen, the following action <br /> was taken: <br /> ACTION: <br /> That a resolution be drafted and voted on. <br /> MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Aiken; <br /> VOTE: AYES: Aiken, Clayton, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle <br /> NOES: Henley <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> Councilman Henley stated that he would like to hear what the <br /> Southern Pacific Railroad has to say. <br /> A five minute recess was called. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 9:25 P. M. The Mayor stated that other <br /> items on the Agenda would be considered until the Attorney com- <br /> pleted the draft of the Resolution. <br /> M 8. Santa Clara County Flood Control & Water Conservation District.- <br /> Request for Appointment of Councilman to S. C. Co. Water Commis- <br /> sion. <br /> Request was made by the S. C. Co. Board of Supervisors in letter <br />
