Eisemann, representatives of <br /> the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. , were present and <br /> distributed literature supporting acquisition of control of the <br /> Western Pacific Railroad by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rwy. <br /> Co. Mr. Jarl discussed reasons for supporting the A. T. a S.F. <br /> and answered questions asked by Councilmen. <br /> Mr. Jarl requested the Council to adopt a resolution in support of <br /> acquisition of control of the Western Pacific Railroad by the <br /> Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Co. and opposing acquisition <br /> of the Western Pacific Railroad by the Southern Pacific Railroad. <br /> After discussion by the Mayor and Councilmen, the following action <br /> was taken: <br /> ACTION: <br /> That a resolution be drafted and voted on. <br /> MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Aiken; <br /> VOTE: AYES: Aiken, Clayton, Sherlock, Mayor Fowle <br /> NOES: Henley <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> Councilman Henley stated that he would like to hear what the <br /> Southern Pacific Railroad has to say. <br /> A five minute recess was called. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 9:25 P.
