No. 16? cont'd. <br /> ACTION: <br /> Adopt Resolution No. 167 a., read. <br /> MOTION: Aiken; SECOND ; Heniuy; <br /> ROLL CALL: AYES: Aiken, Clayton, Henley, Sherlock, <br /> Mayor Fowls <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Fernhill Road. <br /> The City Manager stated that inquiries have been made by resi- <br /> dents in the area of Fernhill Rd. interested in the formation of <br /> an assessment district for the purpose of improving the road for <br /> acceptance by the Town. Dr. G. G. Metaxas was present and stated <br /> that residents would like to know the procedure to be ftllowod. <br /> Councilman Henley discussed -He procedures which may be followed, <br /> and recommended that the 191' tot Procedure be followed and that <br /> 1911 Bonds be used. <br /> Councilman Clayton explained that the 1915 Bonds should be re- <br /> served for the citywide improvements and the 1911 2onds be used <br /> for smaller procedures. The Council concurred with Councilman <br /> Clayton. <br /> The Attorney stated that he would be happy to meet with persons <br /> interested in the formation of the :'assessment District. <br /> Councilman liken stated that he would explain the Council 's <br /> position in the matter to the residents of the area. <br /> No action was taken. <br /> VARIINCES: <br /> 1. Stevenson. J. R. 582-61) - Request for reduction of Front Setback <br /> Requirements to 36 ' . <br /> The Clerk reported that the Manning Commission had considered <br /> the variance as a hardship case , and recommended approval to <br /> allow an addition to the existing residence situated on a $-acre <br /> site. <br /> ACTION: <br /> That the request of J. R. Stevenson (92-61) for reduction <br /> of front setback to 36 ' be appr,cved. <br /> NOTION: Henley; SECOND : Sherlock; VOTE: Passed unanimously <br />
