-2- <br /> Annexation - Cont 'd. <br /> to Los Altos Hills. Nr. Frank said the area contains about <br /> forty (40) homes and that the approximate assessed valuation is' <br /> $260,000, and that the population of the area is between 150 and <br /> 200, of which there are sixty-five registered voters. The major- <br /> ity of the residents favor annexation. <br /> In answer to questions about Zoning in the area, Mr Frank stated <br /> that Oak Hill Avenue is zoned one-acre; the area along Manuella <br /> Avenue has l4-acre lots, and that there are some 36-acre lots, but <br /> the area has the type of development similar to Los Altos Hills. <br /> Yr. Frank answered questions regarding roads , stating that Man- <br /> uella Avenue is the only public road in the area, about .6 of a <br /> mile which would have to be maintained by the Town. The other <br /> roads are private. <br /> Several residents of the area were present. Comments were <br /> heard from Mr. Virgil R. Gualtiere, 14779 Manuella avenue and <br /> Mr. Joseph E. Joseph, 26155 resa :'.venue. <br /> Commissioner Mellquist and members of the Jouncil commented re- <br /> lative to proposed boundaries. <br /> The City Attorney commented on the procedure to be followed. <br /> ACTION: <br /> That the matter of annexation of territory including Oak <br /> Hill tract to the Town of Los Altos Hills be referred to <br /> the Planning Commission. <br /> MOTION: Bledsoe; 3.:COND: Treat ; VOTE: Passed unanimously <br /> Councilman Sherlock was granted permission to leave the meeting. <br /> 2. Roadside Cleanup - Los Altos Hills. <br /> The Mayor commented on the conditions of the Town's roads rela- <br /> tive to litter along the rights-of-way, and stated that Mr. .Taaffe <br /> the Town's Road Contractor, can provide a man to clean up areas <br /> in the Town twice a month for 095.00 per month. <br /> The possibility of hiring teenagers for this work was discussed, <br /> and Mr. Taaffe was asked to check the possibility and report to <br /> the Council at the next meeting. <br /> The City Attorney was asked to the check the feasibility of post- <br /> ing signs about the Town and at the Town's entrances offering re- <br /> wards for information regarding anyone seen depositing litter a- <br /> ) <br /> long the roads or rights-of-way. <br /> 3.
