-2- <br /> Fire District cont 'd. <br /> L ACTION: <br /> That the City Council approve the action of the Board of <br /> Supervisors in the appointment of new Pira Cotnissioners. <br /> MOTION: Sherlock; SECOND: Bledsoe; <br /> Mr. Sidney Treat , Chairman of the Los Altos Hills Fire Dis- <br /> trict rtudy Committee, commended the County Roard of Super- <br /> visors in that their action shows very fair treatnent. He <br /> stated that he felt there would be no lapse in fire protect- <br /> ion due to changes. <br /> VOTE: Passed unanimously <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Proposed Grant-St . Joseph No. 4 Annextion to the City of Los Altos. <br /> The Mayor declared the Meeting open, and asked for comments from <br /> the Floor. <br /> Comments and questions were heard iron the following persons: <br /> Mrs. Walter A. Poison, Mrs. Irma Goldsmith, Mr. Sidney W. Treat, <br /> Mr. Francis Duveneck, Jr. , and Mr. Gardner Bullis and Mr. Colin <br /> Peters, both Attorneys representing a number of residents in the <br /> area who are opposed to annexation to the City of Los Altos. <br /> Mr. Peters pointed out several r(.asons why the proposed annexation <br /> map should be opposed and stated that he would like to see a Reso- <br /> lution passed by the City Council of Los Altos Hills opposing the <br /> annexation both in principle and as a threat to the Town. <br /> Mr. Bullis, concurring with Mr. Peters that a Resolution should be <br /> passed, stated that he has much respect for the officials of the <br /> City of Los Altos, and that he did not believe they were aware of <br /> some of the details. <br /> Councilmen expressed opinions that the proposed nap is objection- <br /> able because it is contrary to the best interest of the Town of <br /> Los Altos Hills. <br /> Mayor Powle reported that at 3:00 F. M. (lTov. 161) a call was made <br /> to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors reauesting information <br /> of the ^_ction taken by the County Boundary Commission on the pro- <br /> posed Grant-St. Joseph No. 4 Annextion to the City of Los Altos. <br /> The Clerk of the Board stated that the map was rejected because <br /> of inaccuracies , and tha no action will be taken before Dec. 71. <br /> The Mayor stated that, at this tine, applications for greenbelting <br /> or other annexation Laps nay be filed. <br /> The suggestion was made that a Committee be appointed to study this <br /> situation. <br /> The City Attorney was asked to draft a Resolution opposing the <br /> proposed Grant-St. Joseph No. 4 annexation to the City of Los <br /> Altos. <br />
