Ordinance #42 - Regulating Signs and Billboards. Tirst Reading. <br />The Mayor read the Ordinance in its entirety. <br />Section IV was amended relative to fee to be charged for application <br />for additional directional advertising displays. <br />ANNOUNCMENTS : <br />1. Conference with Flood Control District - Report by the Payor. <br />The Mayor stated that he and Mr. Longmire had attended a meeting <br />with the 7loud Control District along with representatives from <br />other small communities. <br />The possibility of the County Flood Control District handling all <br />problems relative to major drainage facilities and the question of <br />fees for this service was discussed, but no agreement was reached. <br />The Mayor stated th�.t he was inclined not to participate in the <br />program. <br />2. Fire Hydrants - Mr. Henry V. Seward. <br />Mr. Seward requested the Council's consideration of the possibility <br />of some rebate for subdividers who are required to have fire hy- <br />drants installed, from which surrounding residents are benefited. <br />He cited a recent example --lir. Norman Bonn. ii condition of ap- <br />proval by the Los Altos Fire Protection District was the installa- <br />tion of a fire hydrant which cost approximately 1750, and final <br />approval of the subdivision map is contingent upon approval of the <br />Fire District. Mr. Seward stated that several residents have <br />voluntarily pledged contributions. <br />Mr. Seward requested that if any solution is arrived at, that action <br />be retroactive to allow Er. Bonn some consideration. <br />The Mayor suggested that the Fire Frotection District be contacted, <br />and stated that the Council would consider the situation. <br />WARRANTS: <br />'ills in the amount of 11,839.94 were presented for payment by Council- <br />man Clayton <br />10-23-58 <br />
