Entrance Signs for the Town - City Clerk. <br />The City Clerk quoted <br />a type of enamel sign, <br />"`p (redwood) type of sign <br />and to install. <br />ACTION: <br />prices for the purchase and installation of <br />and also presented sketches of a wooden <br />which would be less expensive to construct <br />That the City Clerk be instructed to proceed with securing <br />the required number of entrance signs, and that the design <br />#1, as submittedt be used. <br />MOTION: Hoefler; SECOND: Fowle; VOTE: Passed unanimously <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Petition for Di,sincorporation of the Town of Los Altos Hills. <br />The City Clerk, Paul W. Salfen, at this time presented to the <br />Council a Petition purporting to have been signed by electors of <br />the Town of Los Altos Hills and requesting that -an election be <br />cal'ied upon the question as to whether or not the Town of Los <br />Altos Hills Dis-incorporate. Mr. Salfen reported that he had <br />checked the signatures and had determined that there were ade- <br />quate signatures, properly addressed and dated for more than <br />twenty per cent of the qualified electors for the last general <br />state election held within the Town of Los Altos Hills and the <br />Petition was sufficient and adequate as provided by the Govern- <br />ment Code of the State of California. Thereupon the City Council <br />examined said Petition and the following Resolution was offered <br />by Councilman Bledsoe: <br />WHEREAS there has been presented to the City Council of the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills a Petition of electors of said City re- <br />questing a Special Election be called as to whether or not the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills should dis-incorporate as a Sixth Class <br />City of the State of California, and <br />WHEREAS the City Clerk has reported that the signatures <br />thereon are adequate in form and number and whereas the City <br />Council has examined said Petition, <br />NOV THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council finds <br />the Petition of the Electors of the Town of Los Altos Hills to <br />have been signed by the required number of electors and that the <br />Petition is in all respects adequate and sufficient and valid; <br />further that the City Council of the Town of Los Altos <br />Hills hereby accepts such Petition and in accordance therewith <br />calls a Special Election to be held concurrently with the General <br />City Election on the 6b day of April 1958 and at which time the <br />voters of the Town of Los Altos Hills shall vote and determine <br />whether or not the Town of Los Altos Hills shall dis-incorporate; <br />2-19 <br />
