u -6 <br />-2- <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Pressed Amendment to Ordinance;``� - City Attorney. <br />Attorney Bullis submitted a proposal to prohibit signs in the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills. He suggested that the existing sign <br />ordinance be repealed and that a new ordinance be drafted. The <br />City Attorney was directed, by the Council, to draft a new Sign <br />Ordinance. <br />2. Mrs. Irma Goldsmith - Report on Christmas Party and the Teen-age <br />qty. <br />Mrs. Goldsmith expressed her gratitude to the Council. <br />many citizens in the Town of Los Altos Hills, who <br />the Christmas Party,held on December 22nd, 195'7. <br />the people in the Town had been most generous in t <br />and that there are funds left over sufficient to pu se .0 <br />and decorations for next year. <br />Mrs. Goldsmith reported that the Teen-age party was a suecess. <br />She expressed the gratitude of the teen-agers of the Town to'the <br />City Council for granting -the use of the Town Hall for-the'party. <br />Deputy Mayor Rothwell extended to Mrs. Goldsmith the gratitude of <br />the City Council for her part in making the parties a success. <br />3. Automobile Registration. <br />Councilman Bledsoe suggested that each citizen of Los Altos Hills <br />give "Los Altos HiUs" as his address when paying autom-'.,i.le re- <br />gistrations. The Town receives a portion of this.revenue. <br />The City Clerk was asked to check with the California State <br />Motor Vehicle Department to determine if Los altos dills is <br />acceptable as a legal address. <br />4. Post Office - For the Town of Los Altos Hills. <br />The City Clerk was instructed to secure information regarding <br />the establishment of a branch post office in the Town, and. report <br />at the next meeting. <br />5. In Lieu Taxes. <br />The City Clerk was asked to report to the Council how the in lieu <br />tax is distributed to cities. <br />6. Assessment of Agricultural Lands. <br />Deputy Mayor Rothwell asked Councilmen Bledsoe and Hoefler to <br />work as a committee to determine if agricultural land assessments <br />are increased when adjoining newly developed lands. <br />
