2. <br />3• <br />- 2 - <br />Budget - 1957-58. <br />Councilman Rothwell discussed the budget but lacking <br />complete figures of assessed valuation the matter will be <br />brought up at a future date as soon as figures are avail- <br />able from the assessor. <br />Destroying of Road Signs. <br />Councilman Rothwell expressed concern in regard to the <br />shooting of holes into the 'Anti -Litter' sign on rage <br />Mill Road and suggested that the Council consider the <br />passing of a Fire Arms Ordinance. After discussion, <br />Mayor Treat agreed to take the matter up with County <br />Sheriff, Melvin Hawley. <br />4. Discussion of Improvement to South E1 Monte and Formation <br />of An Assessment District. <br />The following people spoke: Mrs. Hugh Monahan, Attorney <br />Myers, Fred Gutt and Councilman Hoefler. <br />Councilmen Hoefler stated that there are many contributing <br />requirements for the development of any land and that it <br />is up to the developers to put in roads, furnish water, <br />utilities, etc. and to ask the taxpayers to take care of <br />it is an injustice. <br />Attorney Myers again appeared in behalf of Lloyd <br />Copenhaver and asked the Council for immediate action <br />on S. E1 Monte. He was informed that the Council was not <br />ready to take action at the present time. <br />5. Reappointment of Mr. Richard Dawson to Planning Commission. <br />Accept the reappointment of Richard Dawson to the Planning <br />Commission to serve until expiration of his original term <br />retroactive - June 6, 1957• <br />ACTION: <br />Motion: Mayor Treat; Second: Hoefler; Vote: Passed <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: Mayor Treat, Bledsoe, Hoefler, <br />Rothwell. <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Fowle. <br />
