This letter <br />recommended that the Town engage Testing and <br />Controls, Inc., of Palo Alto, an engineering <br />Company, to inspect and test the adequacy of <br />public improvements in the Town. The City Engineer <br />outlined a proposal to engage this company <br />on a trial basis and also a possible financing <br />plan. Letter filed for study and reference. <br />4. Lerague of California Cities - April 29, 1957• <br />signed, -Richard Carpenter, Executive Director and <br />General Counsel. Legislative Bulletin urging <br />support for AB 1502 and SB 1759. <br />AB 1502 - would authorize the Department of Public <br />Works in contracts with cities or counties to <br />include provision for improvements, revisions or <br />extension of streets leading to or from a freeway <br />and deemed by the Department to be necessary in <br />accommodating freeway traffic. <br />SB 1759 - provides for creation of a California <br />40 Commission on Intergovernmental Relations to consist <br />of 15 members, to investigate all phases of inter- <br />governmental relations in California, and the <br />governmental problems of metropolitan areas. <br />5. City of San Leandro - May 1, 1957. signed: Zeno <br />Imo. Mauvais,ham irman of San Leandro Planning Commission. <br />Reference to proposed legislation concerning <br />creation of a Regional Planning Agency. Bills are <br />presently in the legislature, and the City of San <br />Leandro is submitting Resolution No. 3-28-57-1, <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING ENDORSEMENT OF REGIONAL <br />PLANNING LEGISLATION. San Leandro urges the Council <br />and Commission to study changes embodied in the -7 C - 0c <br />aforementioned Resolution, and give their support. NO <br />6. Reference Junipero <br />erra Freeway and possibility of limiting traffic <br />to passenger vehicles or developing it as a park- <br />way. The letter outlines why each proposal could <br />not be effected.
