CITY COUNCIL
TOWN OF LOS ALIS HILLS
MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING
JULY 25, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7:45 P. M.,
Wednesday, at Purissima School,
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles Rothwell
and Mayor Treat.
Absent: None
MINUTES: Not read.
A letter from the City Council was read certifying the correctness,
as to form, of the Referendum Petition. The City Clerk certified
that there are sufficient signatures to uphold the petition.
Councilman Rothwell suggested a complete review since enacting
Ordinance No. 17 and was in complete accord with Ordinance No. 17.
Councilman Dungan reviewed the testing of E1 Monte, Stonebrook
and Page Mill roads and results convinced him something had to be
done.
Councilman Fowle said he was reluctant in supporting Ordinance
No. 17 and wahts it put to a vote and that truck routes should be
established.
Councilman Bledsoe claimed truck routes can be established later.
Mr. Walton asked that Ordinance No. 17 be rescinded. Mr. Mager
claimed confusion and to rescind Ordinance No. 17 and reinact the
safety features of the Ordinance after more discussion by citizens.
RESOLUTION No. 23 was presented and read calling for a special
municipal election on October 2, 1956, and on motion of Councilman
Rothwell, seconded by Councilman Dungan, was passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bledsoe, Dungan, Fowles Rothwell
and Mayor Treat
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
