Mr. Sim- <br />rell and Mr. Richard Bullis stated that they felt that the public <br />did not want any quarrying operations to be resumed at all. In <br />the opinion of the planning commission, the quarry operation was <br />in violation of the zoning ordinance. City Attorney Bullis <br />stated that, in his opinion, the operation was legal, <br />Mrs. Hinton urged the passage of an emergency ordi- <br />nance immediately. <br />Mr. Neal questioned the weight limitation of 10 tons. <br />Mrs. Boggs suggested that a speed limit be imposed. <br />The matter of depreciating non-contmrming uses over a <br />reasonable period was discussed. Vice Mayor Dungan asked the <br />planning commission to make a suitable recommendation for an <br />ordinance covering ammortization of non -conforming use permits. <br />It was agreed to consider the proposed new ordinance <br />at the coming meeting of June 22 1956s at 9:30 A. M., and to <br />have a public hearing at the same time. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was ad- <br />journed at 9:30 P.
