Mr. Bledsoe reported on insurance coverage and com- <br />mented that the present insurance covers only the council and <br />the mayor. The company will not write a policy for the chief <br />of police as an individual against claims of false arrest. <br />Vice Mayor Dungan directed Mr. Bledsoe to obtain a bond for <br />Chief of Police McKenna to cover him against such claims. <br />Mr. Fowle brought up the matter of a meeting place <br />and plans for a city hall and stated that definite plans should <br />be established and disposition made thereof. A preliminary <br />sketch has been made Mr. Simrell but plans are still of a tenta- <br />tive nature. Mr. C. E. Dawson of Magdalena Avenue had discussed <br />this matter with the late Mr. A. E. Fowle and Mr. J. M. Fowle <br />about constructing a building on the property offered as a <br />gift to the Town. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Dawson offered a gift of $150000 to the <br />Town of Los Altos Hills to underwrite the cost of this building. <br />Mayor Dungan, on behalf of the council, acknowledged <br />the generous gift of Mr. and Mrs. /�Dawson and stated that he <br />°� � p <br />will direct the city attorney to' drag a ioee�fg ftt �Mr. Fowl/e/ <br />�k�i��-e,% �� /W-0 <br />suggested moving immediately in gettin p s drawn, artists', <br />sketches made, etc. <br />Mr. Bledsoe expressed regret that all the people of the <br />people of the Town of Los Altos Hills were not present to hear the <br />wonderful gesture of Mr. and Mrs. Dawson and suggested that the <br />names of Fowle and Dawson be perpetuated on the building in some <br />- 4 - 4-17-56 <br />
