also reported that through the telephone conversation between <br />City Clerk Paulman and Mr. Howe, the premium on insurance policy <br />need not be paid immediately. <br />Bills for payment of various expenditures were presented <br />and read amounting to $567.63. After a general discussion, it <br />was moved by Mr. Fowle, seconded by Mr. Dungan that the cost <br />of various expenditures on the warrant were in order for payment. <br />Motion carried. <br />A letter from the Los Altos Garbage Company was presented <br />and read. It was suggested that the letter in regard to grant- <br />ing a franchise to Los Altos Garbage Company be discussed at <br />the next meeting. After discussion, a motion was made by <br />Mr. Dungan, seconded by Mr. Fowle that the city attorney draw <br />up a contract for study to d6termine cost and report back at <br />the next meeting. Motion carried. <br />A letter from the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County <br />was presented and read in regard to city sales tax. After dis- <br />cussion, it was moved by Mr. Bledsoe, seconded by Mr. Fowle <br />that the matter of sales tax in this area be tabled for further <br />study. Motion carried. <br />Road Commissioner Macabee reported on the repair of flood - <br />damaged roads. After much discussion, Mr. Macabee was appointed <br />by Mayor Treat to attend the next meeting of the Maybelle Im- <br />provement and Taxpayers Association and report back in regard <br />- 2 - 3-3-56 <br />
