Town of Los Altos Hills <br />City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, March 17, 2011 <br />Council Chambers, 26379 Fremont Road <br />CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mayor Summit called the City Council Regular Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the <br />Council Chambers at Town Hall. <br />Present: Mayor Ginger Summit, Mayor Pro Tem Rich Larsen, Councilmember Jean <br />Mordo, Councilmember John Radford, Councilmember Gary Waldeck <br />Absent: <br />Staff: City Manager Carl Cahill, Planning Director Debbie Pedro, City <br />Engineer/Public Works Director Richard Chiu, Finance Director Nick <br />Pegueros, City Attorney Steve Mattas <br />Mayor Summit made adjustments to the Agenda. Item 23 was moved to Item 1. <br />23. Library Commission Report (Los Altos Library Commission Chair, David <br />Struthers) <br />David Struthers reviewed the annual report of activities. He pointed out that a Prioritization <br />Committee was formed which made recommendations with regard to traffic and parking <br />problems. The Library Commission appointed a representative to the North County Library <br />Authority. Funding from the State for the Library will be cut. <br />Mayor Summit thanked Mr. Struthers for the work he has done for the Library. <br />APPOINTMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />1. Presentation: Request for Sponsorship of Upcoming Los Altos History Museum Water <br />Exhibit, "Shaped by Water: Past, Present, and Future": Jan Masters, Exhibit Sponsorship <br />Committee Member <br />Laura Bajuk, Executive Director of the History Museum, announced a new exhibit to open in <br />October. The exhibit will run from October 6, 2011 to April 15, 2011 and will explore the <br />development of the valley through the perspective of water. <br />Councilmember Mordo supported the exhibit and noted that the Museum's source of revenue <br />was from donations. The exhibit was relevant to the issue of water which the Council has spent <br />an amount of time discussing and considering changes to ordinances. His recommendation was <br />to make a donation. <br />Discussion followed by the Council. Council supported a sponsorship but felt that a donation as <br />part of the Community Services Grant Program and annual budget process should be looked at. <br />Approved City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 17, 2011 <br />
