LOS ALTOS HILLS <br />41r <br />b r <br />CALIFORNIA <br />:9 <br />Town of Los Altos Hills <br />City Council Special Meeting Agenda and <br />Annual Training <br />Thursday, March 13, 2014 <br />Council Chambers, 26379 Fremont Road <br />Los Altos Hills, California <br />NOTICE TO PUBLIC <br />Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the City Council regarding any item on the <br />open session portion of this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the City <br />Clerk's office located at 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California during normal <br />business hours. These materials will also be made available on the City website at <br />www.losaltoshills.ca.gov subject to Staff's ability to post the documents before the meeting. <br />The City Council will meet jointly with following Commissions/Committees: Planning <br />Commission, Art in Public Places, Community Relations, Education, Emergency <br />Communications, Environmental Design and Protection, Environmental Initiatives, Finance and <br />Investment, History, Senior, Open Space, Parks and Recreation, Pathways, Traffic Safety, <br />and Water Conservation <br />No action will be taken at this meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to present the following: <br />CALL TO ORDER (6:00 P.M.) <br />The Los Altos Hills City Attorney's Office will conduct training for all members of Los Altos <br />Hills Committees and Commissions. The training objectives include: <br />• Understanding Fundamental Public Agency Laws by conducting an overview of the <br />Brown Act, Public Records Act and Ethics <br />• Enhancing members' understanding of their role as advisors to the City Council <br />• Reviewing and increasing understanding of the legal requirements of committee members <br />• Providing an opportunity for committee members to discuss responsibilities and ask <br />questions <br />Note: Members of the all Los Altos Hills Commissions and Committees are required to <br />attend this meeting or an online version. There may be a majority of City Council members in <br />attendance.
