411 INTRODUCED BY COUNC I JNAN C. .z ASTON RO THW.ELL RESOLUTION NO. 1Z BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE TOWN Oto LOS ALTOS HILLS: WHEREAS Louise Fowle Carter and John M. Towle, heirs and children of that beloved and revered pioneer, the late Arthur E. Powle, have carried out the express wish of their father and have offered to the Town of Los Altos Hills a site on Freaont Avenue in the Town of Los Altos Hills, at a location deemed convenient, for a City Hall site, and WHEREAS Ina S. Dawson and her husband, C. Earl Dawson, have offered to the Town of Los Altos Hills the sump of 0.5,000 to be used in the construction of a Town Hall on the site as aforesaid with any surplus thereof to be used in equipment for the same, and bdHAREAS William Simrell, Arc'aitect, has offered free of charge a design for such Town Hall which is approved by the respective donors hereinbefore stated, and has offered free of ch^r ;e to provide Plans and Specifications for the construction and upon which a c.ntract therefore may be based, and WREREAS the City Council of the Town of Los Sates Hills in deeply appreciative of the civic nindness and generous spirit prompting each of those offers and isaware of the great benefit which will cone in the enjoyment and convenience of such a Town Mall for all of the residents of the Town of Los Altos Hine. NOW TRii.R:.:iOR ; BE IT ciES;:,L`JED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that upon behalf of itself and of all the residents of the Town. of Los Altos Hills that the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills express most sincere thanks to the res )ective doeors and hereby directs that a suit- able plaque be obtained saemorializins the -•rants which make the Town Hall possible at this time, and That the City Council on behalf of the Town of Los Altos .:.ills and for the Town of Los Altos Hills formally accepts the offer of Louise Towle Carter and John M. Fowle for donation of the land for a Town Hall site on Fremont Avenue in the Town of Los Altos :ills and directs that when a deed therefor is tendered to the Town of Los Altos Hills that it be accepted and placed of record by the oeficIols of the Town of Los Altos Hills, and That the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills on behalf of the Town of Los Altos Hille end e'er the Town of Los Altos Hills formally accepts the offered gift of Ina S. and C. Earl Dawson of a:'lfteen Thousand Dollars (;;15,000.00) to be used for the construction of such Town Hall with any surplus therefrom to be used in equipment I thereof* that such sum be de- posited in a Special and entitled City Hall Find and be . drawn
