0 ORDINANCE NO.432 • ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS ADDING ARTICLE 15 PERTAINING TO PREFERENTIAL PARKING DISTRICTS WHEREAS, due to their proximity to certain institutional and public uses, certain public and private streets and roads in the Town are subject to high demand for the parking of vehicles by other than residents who own frontage on such streets and roads; WHERAS, nonresident vehicles regularly and substantially interfere with the use of available street parking spaces by the residents in the area of the proposed preferential parking district; WHEREAS,the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills desires to designate certain streets and roads within the Town for the use of residents living or residing in on such designated streets and roads; NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills does ORDAIN as follows: 1. Addition of Title 4, Chapter 3, Article 15. Article 15 is hereby added to Title 4, Chapter 3 of the Town of Los Altos Hills Municipal Code to read as follows: 4-3.1501 Definitions. As used in this article: (a) "Dwelling unit" shall mean a house or other type of residence, in conformance with the Zoning Ordinance of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code and related zoning maps. (b) "Guest" shall mean any person visiting a resident located in a preferential parking district for any traditional guest purpose. (c) "Guest permit" shall mean any identification hang tag issued to residents of preferential parking districts by the City Manager or her or his designee, limited for use by guests of the resident within the district to which it is issued, normally subject to renewal on an annual basis. (d) "Preferential parking district" or district shall mean a residential area with streets or boundaries designated by the resolution establishing the district wherein vehicles displaying a valid permit shall be exempt from parking restrictions established pursuant to this chapter. 1
