Project: Plan for and facilitate an engaging workshop with members of the City Council to
review, identify and discuss City goals and priorities for the next year.
Activities:
➢ Plan for the City Council Workshop
• Discuss desired outcomes with the Mayor
• Conduct Council interviews
• Organize draft goals and objectives
• Meet with the City Manager to understand staff priorities
• Prepare a draft facilitator's agenda and review with the Mayor or City Manager
• Finalize the agenda and prepare workshop materials; plan logistics
➢ Facilitate the City Council Goal -Setting Workshop
• Facilitate Council workshop on February 23, 2018
• Summarize and report results

Nancy Hetrick, Partner, has over 20 years of local government experience as a consultant and
as a practitioner. Nancy has led projects for cities, counties and special districts across California
and has been actively involved in associations serving the profession. Her areas of interest and
expertise include coaching and talent development; organizational succession planning;
executive recruitment, performance management,, strategic planning, organizational
effectiveness, and facilitated- problem-solving/process improvement. Nancy is especially skilled
at working with teams to improve their effectiveness, working collaboratively with the client to
address the most important issues in an engaging and productive manner. Nancy is certified in
several assessment instruments,, including the Myers -Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC, and
CP1260 and has utilized other tools such as the Whole Brain, StrengthFinders, and
Communication Style Assessment to meet specific -client needs. She was president of the
Municipal Management Association of Northern California in 2006. In 2007, she founded and
chaired the first annual MMANC Women's Leadership Summit. She currently serves on the
steering committee of the Cal-ICMA Talent Development Initiative and is a member of ICMA.
Prior to joining Management Partners, Nancy worked in the San Mateo County Manager's
Office. Her professional experience also includes work in the nonprofit sector and for a firm
specializing in public sector executive recruitment.
