The minutes were unanimously approved. 3.Public Comment: none. 4.New Business: a.Nina Sutaria has volunteered into leadership as the new Chair of the Parks and Recreation Committee, Kathy Evans volunteered for Vice Chair and Yibin Tang volunteered to be Secretary. Scott Vanderlip motions that Nina Sutaria take the Chair role, that Kathy Evans take the Vice Chair role and that Yibin Tang take the Secretary role. Liza Reichert seconded the motion and then it was unanimously approved. b.Legacy Giving: There are no advertising avenues within our Town’s communications for direction toward legacy giving. The topic has come up before. The Committee would like to discover what is possible and several Committee members believe it to be useful and a good idea. Land purchase is one aspect of legacy giving and that notion is already in the Town’s general plan. To move forward on legacy giving and setting up a plan for the Town, it must be presented to Council. Suggested by Roger Spreen, Parks & Recreation Committee could set up a sub-committee for education and discovery of legacy giving and tap into already existing resources and information with LACF. Kathy Evans motions to start a sub-committee for Legacy Giving Research and Development and Nina Sutaria seconds the motion. A proposal should be presented to Council at a future meeting, August 2019 is a reasonable goal. c.Scott Vanderlip requested confirmation of a Parks & Recreation outreach table at the picnic. The table will have flyers and folders with upcoming events. 5.Old Business: a.Pathways Run 5/11/19: 550 registered runners this year: a 10% increase over last year, no medals this year, some people complained, less food this year which turned out to be “just the right amount”. Fewer sponsors this year, no crossing guards- safety needs to be a priority. b.Touch-A-Truck: well attended, great event, lots of kids; the Los Altos pet parade was on the same day as Touch-A-Truck. Adjourned Time: 7:03 pm Respectfully submitted by: Ingrid Sperow
