Meeting Time: Monday, March 19, 2018 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Place: Parks and Recreation Bldg. 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022
1. Call to Order/Roll Call (Quorum = 5)
a. Chairman: Ingrid Sperow; Vice Chair: Scott Vanderlip; Secretary: Kathy Evans
b. Members: Liza Reichert, Patty Radlo, Nina Sutaria
c. Staff: Sarah Robustelli, Chris Knopf
d. Council Liaison: John Radford
e. Associate Members all voted in to continue their terms: Karen Lemes, Kit Gordon, Rebecca Hickman,
Helene Karlsson, Kjell Karlsson, Val Metcalfe, Jim Basiji, Craig Murray, Theresa Martin, Alisa Bredo,
Nick French.
f. **Time for a new roster with contact info for all members. Make sure DPadovan has all info
**Our Committee has 3 openings. Think about Chair/Co-Chair Nominations – Vote in June. Sarah will
ask Deborah for a new roster with updated information to pass out at the next meeting in April.
2. Review of February 26, 2018 DRAFT Minutes Approved unanimously
3. Public Comments (list members of public) None
4. Sub-Committee Reports:
a. Barn Update: Sarah has met with Torie and they are moving forward on getting architectural
drawings for a covered arena. Sarah will continue to report on progress. She will also ask for money
from Council for the cost of these drawings.
b. Garden Update: Ingrid said there is an interested homeowner on Corbetta Lane off Altamont, who
could host the initial community garden. We need to add someone to the P&R committee to
spearhead this effort and get some programs going. She will ask the homeowner if they are
interested in joining P&R as an associate member to lead this.
c. Sr. Programming: Karen Lemes – will report out as needed. Keep this as a placeholder.
d. Preschool Programming: Nina Sutaria will collect names and emails at the Town Picnic
e. Fall Activity Guide Preview – Chris / Sarah Reported that new programs are being added. Deadline
for Fall Guide is the end of June. Deadline for Spring Guide is the end of December.
f. Joint softball game update: Liza/Nick / Sarah Proposed for August 18 or 19 to be confirmed
g. Family Campout update: Sarah / Chris It was suggested that there be more activities and crafts like
lanyards and camping skills. Invite the YC to participate to help with these. Also it was discussed to
try to add things that are more toddler friendly – like changing stations, keeping the bathroom door
open, toothbrush cups, toddler friendly healthy foods like fruit, vegetables and trail mix. We should
add a better breakfast with sausage and hot foods like scrambled eggs and pancakes and fruit.
Dinner should also be heartier with more meat. Chris has all the Girl Scout materials on camping
and can decide which activities are appropriate for this group with the YC. We should advertise this
at Earth Day and the Town Picnic with a flier.

(NOT Mother’s Day Weekend) There is a
conflicting run on MD weekend.

e. Softball Event August 18 or 19 tba
f. Hoedown September 15th 3-8pm
g. Preschool Halloween Event October 31st
h. Lights Parade November 25th
i. Holiday Barn Lighting December 2nd 2-5pm
j. Touch a Truck Event May 19
k. Hoppin Hounds 3/31 9:00 – 10:30 am
6. Old Business:
a. Neighborhood Networks Update – Scott / Kathy – P&R to follow up and keep this going
b. Piano concerts – Sarah report
c. Art representing P&R in town – continue discussion on what we would like in the future
d. LA/LAH Easter Activity – Joint advertising for LA event.
7. Los Altos Hills & Los Altos - shared Parks and Recreation Activities – Sarah /Chris
8. 2018 P&R Budget Request to Council – Wish List (Due before May) Discuss
9. New Business: Discuss having more culturally diverse events: Sarah / Chris
Future 2018 Meetings: April 16, May 21, June 18, No July, August 20, September 17, October 15,
November 12 special, No December
