Item #7 Mediation Resources was moved up in the agenda so that Roy Woolsey could hear the report on Mediation services available to Town residents. Scott thought that our Town should have better branded services available because the brochure we currently use appears to be Los Altos focused and he was not aware that they also provided services to Los Altos Hills residents. He invited Paul Schechter to speak about the kind of mediation services he provides. This brought up the idea that it has been a long time since we had activated the Neighborhood Networks system in town. Sarah brought out a file of material showing what had been developed several years ago with Joan Sherlock and Ginger Summit and the Fire District. Neighbors in town could host gatherings and a representative of the Fire District would attend and give info on CERT and other free town programs available to residents. With the recent fires in Napa and Santa Cruz Mountains, we felt it might be important to bring back the Neighborhood Networks and remind people to host these events again, to reconnect with neighbors new and old. Roy Woolsey said he would take this feedback back to the next CRC meeting to see if they could champion this effort. Everyone agreed the mediation and the Neighborhood Network were a better fit with the CRC mission. 4.Sub-Committee Reports: Barn: Julia Zarcone/Val Metcalf: Julia reported that she and Val had met with Tori and decided that there was a need for a covered arena, but there needed to be some conceptual work done in advance because this was a longer term project and we should see if there is consensus in the community to move forward. She requested seed money to do some preliminary drawings and have discussions with stakeholders at the barn, to assure them that our intent is to maintain the barn as a resident and/or stakeholder community barn and asset. The addition of a covered arena should not impact this goal. Tori can work out procedures and policy when the time comes. We discussed not having an evening fundraiser in 2018, but moving it to 2019 after we have a chance to look at the drawings, examine the costs and assess the political will to move forward. Garden: Craig Murray: Defer to next meeting Purissima: Exercise Equipment- Sarah reported that the Council had approved the additional funding to install the equipment and that we should have some kind of announcement or ribbon cutting to let the residents know the new equipment was going to be available. Ingrid suggested some SR. Walks in the area to also demonstrate their use, as well as a short video on each element, that could be posted to the Town website and NextDoor. Sr. Programming: Karen Lemes – Defer to next meeting Preschool Programming: Champa Sreenivas and Nin Sutaria reported that the time for the Preschool Halloween Event might need to be adjusted to accommodate preschool hours, so it will be changed to 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. Nina will also help to advertise the event through her mothers group. Sarah and Chris have started to assemble Halloween decorations. Kathy and Ingrid will attend in costume and help with the craft activities and circle time songs. 5.2017 Events: o Preschool Halloween at Town Hall: October 26, 11am – 1:00 p.m. o Holiday Lights Parade- Changed to a Town Float instead of a P&R Float – so Sarah will send email to all Town Committee chairs to solicit Float Pushers. o Barn Lighting – Dec 3, 2-5 pm – Defer to next meeting 6.Old Business a.Pathway Recreational Loops: Escape routes! sub-committee – Liza Reichert & Scott Vanderlip b.Town Mailer Proposal –Maps – Scott Vanderlip will contact and attend the Pathway Committee meeting to seek approval from them to print and distribute the map to all Town residents in either the Activity Guide, the Town newsletter or a separate mailer – depending on price.
