Vendor said it is common to have a 20 minute wait for their food. Person taking orders was the bottleneck. Next year, we need a second experienced person for taking orders. 4)New Member Recruitment - Kathy a.Hoedown, Holiday Lighting, Earth Day - Kathy noted we will need three people to take over some of the work she's been doing. b.Karen Lemes is in attendance and she going to be helping out with senior activities. c.Karen is pleased with what progress has been made so far d.Kathy nominates Ingrid Sperow (currently an associate member) for our committee. New Pilates instructor this season, unfortunately doesn't have a big following like the teacher before her. Will be hiring a new teacher from this area, hoping for more success. c.All agree that an additional flex room would help get the class numbers up. Could also be used as a gym for residents. d.Karen requests to use council facilities for Seniors on Thursdays; goal is helping local seniors connect and socialize, which is hard to do without strong community support. e.Idea to have the Bookmobile also at the same time (library says turnout is best when Bookmobile is piggybacked on another event) 6)Byrne Preserve & other preserve/park signage standards - Scott a.Scott proposes signs denoting how far to a handful of other trails or sites of interest (accessible from that point). He presented a document with photo examples. b.Kathy suggests talking to the Pathways committee about the idea (will need their signoff). c.Idea was raised to put this information online (also denoting which trails are more senior- or handicap-accessible). d.All agreed that people have a heightened concern about burglaries at this time, and placing these signs to direct traffic by peoples' homes might raise concern. So we will start with more general, public trails that won't upset residents. e.Scott, Liza & Nina agreed to get together in the next month and talk about ~2-4 places to do first. 7)Champa proposes a community garden. Concerns may be irrigation, parking.. does the committee want to discuss this idea? Craig Murray - runs the garden on Dori Lane. He would like to run it as a Parks & Rec class. Can we think of any park space to use for this? We need to ask the town. 8)Council Presentation Finalization - Liza a.Liza presented her document to the group.
