Public Comments
Karen Drucker proposed a possible fundraiser art exhibit at Town Hall to benefit
Parks & Recreation for the 2013 September time frame. For example, the
fundraiser could have an “Equestrian” theme focused on raising extra funds for
Westwind Barn facilities and other horse‐related programs. The Committee
thanked Karen and welcomed her suggestion and said they would be willing to
work with her on planning this event.
Update on Research for Environment‐friendly Pest control for Westwind
Kit reported that she was a waiting to receive more information from Richard Chu
and understands that currently there is a bi‐monthly service at Westwind. The
current service does not implement environment‐friendly pest control. .

Follow‐up on Westwind RFP Status
Sarah said the RFP plan would be presented to the Finance Committee on
November 5 at 4 pm. The plan is still on track to be presented to Council. Jean
Mordo suggested that the Town should forget about the RFP and focus on the
financial assessment of Westwind financials (including revenue for YRRP.) He
also suggested that the Town should
1. Assess the impact of separating training versus management
2. Assess possibility of 24/7 presence at the Barn
Val Metcalfe agreed to attend the Finance Committee meeting on November 5 as
a representative of the Parks & Recreation Committee.
Donation
Carl Cahill has met with the party interested in donating money to Westwind. The
landscaping project seems a likely project.
24/7 Housing
Rebecca Hickman has started researching the different housing options and will
send out the links to the committee members.
Programs & Classes
Sarah reported that 10 signed up for the Babysitting class; Bone building Pilates
has 11 as of today. Future programs include a ceramic class. The challenge is
finding the facilities to hold some of the classes – either at Town Hall or working
to have space at Foothill College.
