Present in person: John Radford (JR), Craig Jones (CJ), Eric Ramberg (ER),
Present by phone: Bart Carey (BC), Mary Gallivans (MG), Dean Warshawsky (DW)
CJ called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm and summarized administrative requirements of
the committee.
BC was elected Chairperson. ER was elected secretary.
CJ clarified that he and DW are currently not members; they are liasons to the city
council.
Future agendas to be posted prior to meetings, minutes shall be recorded and posted.
Role of Committee was discussed:
- Monitor LASD and PAUSD, advocate for LAH
CJ presented a letter for comments prior to sending to LASD Board in regard to LASD
attendance area discussions. DW agreed to present final letter.
Committee commented on the letter. CJ incorporated comments and sent to DW.
Committee discussed latest version of PAUSD/LASD MOU regarding transfer of
PAUSD students to LASD K-6, specifically with regard to PAUSD’s apparent
modification that only students that had attended PAUSD public schools the previous
year would be eligible for transfer. Committee agreed that this policy was confusing, and
PAUSD’s reasons for doing so were unclear. BC and JR agreed to draft a letter to
PAUSD board asking for clarification/rationale.
Monday July 9th tentative next meeting.
Meeting was adjourned 5:30pm.
