Council
Report
by
John
Radford:
• Town
is
planning
to
do
a
survey
around
a
community
center
building
and
would
like
input
on
questions
by
October
17th.
(Heather
&
Kristin)
• Parents
at
Gardner
Bullis
School
are
still
not
satisfied
with
safety
of
crosswalk
at
Fremont
Road
and
Fremont
Pines
Lane.
In
meeting
between
LASD
BOT
Ivanovic
and
Mayor
Corrigan
a
possible
solution
was
discussed:
remove
the
crosswalk,
place
a
new
bike
cage
by
Children’s
House
pre-‐school,
add
more
railroad
ties
across
from
school
to
prevent
all
parking.
Comments:
• All
bikers
coming
up
the
“S”
curve
and
from
Miranda/Campo
Vista
would
cross
with
all
walkers
from
the
same
directions.
Students
would
converge
into
one
narrow
path.
• LASD
has
not
approved
any
of
these
changes.
The
Town
has
not
received
a
traffic
engineer
report
on
this
solution.
No
parties
have
solicited
any
community
input
nor
held
any
public
meetings
on
the
topic.
2.
Request
for
LASD
Enrollment
Analysis
Report
• John
Radford
would
like
the
committee
to
analyze
enrollment
data
for
LASD.
Is
there
a
bump
of
400
additional
student
enrollments
currently
in
4th
and
5th
grades
moving
through
LASD
or
is
this
something
else?
The
purpose
is
to
understand
whether
or
not
new
land
or
a
new
school
site
is
justified
for
LASD
as
they
determine
how
best
to
spend
bond
proceeds.
Comments:
• We
have
the
demographer
report
from
LASD.
Official
enrollment
data
from
LASD
most
likely
not
available
until
October.
• Gardner
Bullis
School
is
the
only
LASD
elementary
school
to
add
enrollments
over
last
year.
• LASD
expects
overall
enrollments
to
be
“flat”
versus
last
year.
• BCS
expects
enrollments
to
be
“flat”
versus
last
year.

on

on
