latest long-term facility proposal. See attached file.
3. Current status of negotiations between Los Altos School District and Bullis
Charter School
Ying provided the status of the long term facility proposal and the meeting observation from April
8th LASD board meeting.
4. Report out from all of the school board meetings with the LAH schools
Discussion: Parents expressed concerns at school board meetings and PTA meetings. The
10th site is not suitable for 7th and 8th graders to bike to school in the current and future traffic
situation. Commuting by car will make traffic even worse in an area that already has high and
growing density residential and commercial buildings. Many parents chose to live in Los Altos
Hills for the sense of community in this area and the reasonable accessibility to neighborhood
schools.
5. Outstanding questions for city council
a. Assessment of Impact on property values
b. How is the city council advocating for the LAH parents and community?
Discussions: LASD is not within the jurisdiction of Los Altos Hills. The city council may not be
able to influence as effectively as many people thought.
c. What can the committee do to ensure LAH residents have a voice at the table
Discussion: We felt that the voices of Los Altos Hills community haven't been heard by the
LASD Board in the previous and current issues. In order to represent the best interest of Los
Altos Hills residents, we strongly suggest a designated seat for Los Altos Hills jurisdiction be
considered on the LASD school board .
