Presentations from the Floor (For persons wishing to address the Education Committee on any subject relating to education. Please note that the committee can listen to your issue only if it is not on the evening's Agenda. Public Comments.- Karen Lemes from 27271 Moody Road made public comments about the latest long-term facility proposal. See attached file. 3. Current status of negotiations between Los Altos School District and Bullis Charter School Ying provided the status of the long term facility proposal and the meeting observation from April 8th LASD board meeting. 4. Report out from all of the school board meetings with the LAH schools Discussion: Parents expressed concerns at school board meetings and PTA meetings. The 10th site is not suitable for 7th and 8th graders to bike to school in the current and future traffic situation. Commuting by car will make traffic even worse in an area that already has high and growing density residential and commercial buildings. Many parents chose to live in Los Altos Hills for the sense of community in this area and the reasonable accessibility to neighborhood schools. 5. Outstanding questions for city council a. Assessment of Impact on property values b. How is the city council advocating for the LAH parents and community? Discussions: LASD is not within the jurisdiction of Los Altos Hills. The city council may not be able to influence as effectively as many people thought. c. What can the committee do to ensure LAH residents have a voice at the table Discussion: We felt that the voices of Los Altos Hills community haven't been heard by the LASD Board in the previous and current issues. In order to represent the best interest of Los Altos Hills residents, we strongly suggest a designated seat for Los Altos Hills jurisdiction be considered on the LASD school board . 6. Adjourn @9pm
