1. Roll Call:
Present: Heather Rose, Janna Land, Kay Randall, Lakshmi Ramgopal, Marissa Goodger, Ying
Liu, Kjell Karlsson

2. Public Comments on Non -agenda items
None
3. Goals and Objectives for 2019: What will be our deliverables?
Discussions: We want to keep our education committee live in order to stay relevant in the
school districts and keep our city council informed of the school -related issues, such as safety,
facility, enrollment, bond and parcel tax issuance etc.
Our objectives are to raise awareness of school options for the Los Altos Hills residents, provide
periodic updates to our city council members, have a voice in the resolutions that impact LAH
4. Roles and Responsibilities: Meeting Minutes, Monitoring respective districts/schools and
their board activities, bring relevant topics to the committee, ensuring deliverables are delivered
Discussion: We have a good coverage of the local 'Schools Gardner Bullis, Egan, Bullis Charter,
Fletcher Middle and private schools. Each of us has the responsibility to bring up our respective
school issue.
Motion:
Marissa made a motion to approve Heather Rose as the committee secretary.
Kay seconded. All in favor.
5. LASD and BCS Facility Status Update
Discussion: Ying provided an update on the Prop 39 process. Egan, Blach and a subset of
Loyola classrooms were offered to BCS for 2019-2020 school year in support of the enrollment
growth. Both boards decided to postpone the Prop 39 response and focused on a long -term
agreement.
G. Stanford GUP and PAUSD
Discussion: Heather provided the update on Stanford General Plan and the risk of re -assigning
Los Altos Hills students from Nixon Elementary and Fletcher Middle to other Palo Alto schools.
Heather as a PTA member is organizing special meeting on Feb 14th to discuss the impact and
actions to minimize it.
