The base of tower has been set in concrete and the equipment box is on site and ready for installation. There will be a meeting to decide on cable channels before concrete is poured for equipment pad. 2) Ray Egan reported that Verizon is agreeable to our having an antenna on their tower at WestWind barn. We need to procure the antenna in the next four months and in six months they will install it on the tower. Top of all antennas must be within approved tower height. Verizon equipment will be in a semi underground vault and a connector to our antenna will be on the side of the vault. 3) Sam Wood made the suggestion that we ask the cellular companies if we could have access to their hi-speed internet at their towers. The idea met with approval and will be followed up. 4) A test of interference between the Cingular tower at the town hall site and our reception at the EOC by Ray Egan. There was no significant effect. Scott Overstreet noted that transmit frequencies might affect the cellular signal; however, they are ones that we are unlikely to use. If necessary, filters can be considered. 5) The proposed cellular tower at town hall would be a fake tree, height tuned to separation requirements, and include our antennas. 6) The purchase order for the backup repeater will be issued as soon as a $400 adjustment for optional accessories is made. 7) The magnetic signs will arrive as soon as town writes a check. 8) Dru Anderson proposed a subcommittee to do scenario planning for ECC technology equipment and skill readiness. Lynn McLeod, Bob Hall, and Edwin Jones volunteered. 9) David Gilmour will explore the feasibility of a multi-town approach to a digital network, and report back. At 8:00 PM the meeting adjourned for the Monday night SPECSnet check in. Minutes prepared by Ed Jones and Respectfully Submitted, Rick Ellinger LAHECC Secretary Emergency Coordinator, Los Altos Hills
