Chairman Ed Jones called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm.
Bob Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the November ECC meeting, Bob Rowe
seconded, and the motion passed.
District Emergency Coordinator Larry Carr described a new county requirement that emergency
responders in need of amateur radio communication be shadowed by an amateur radio
operator. This is in response to an FCC ruling against the use of amateur radio
frequencies by paid employees. Larry Carr also reported that the new county Mutual Aid
Communicator program requires MAC’s to submit to a background check and to
volunteer at a minimum of one event per year.
Los Altos Hills is responsible for January SPECS net control. The ECC agreed to continue the
previously established order of net control responsibility.
Steve Garcia asked for the ECC to prepare a drill in the month of February which incorporates the
new CERT trailers.
Dru Anderson suggested that the ECC reach out to newly-licensed CERT members who may
need guidance regarding radio equipment and net procedures.
At 7:22 pm Bob Anderson moved to adjourn the meeting, Sam Wood seconded, and the motion
passed.
Respectfully submitted,
Miles Seiver
LAHECC Secretary
