The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by chairman Edwin Jones.
The April minutes were not yet submitted.
Al Whaley reported on county packet issues -
High speed tests are now being done
He discovered that one of the Kenwood 710D receivers is not working
Al Whaley also discussed the town combined CERTS / ECC drill.
The base station FMRS radio has limitations. He suggested that, if the town purchases
additional radios, that they have the additional functions.
There was a noon meeting at Peet’s Coffee shop for a post mortem.
The drill remote site antenna situation of two 2 M antennas near each other at the same
elevation caused unacceptable interference. He suggested a temporary tower allowing
vertical separation of the antennas.
The next town drill is in September.
He suggested that more work be done on the emergency operation plan. Ray Egan has
done a preliminary plan. Al Whaley and Edwin Jones volunteered to work with him on the
plan.
Edwin Jones reported that Steve Garcia is in the process of ordering vests for the new members.
How to recruit new members at the town picnic was discussed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:33 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Gary Waldeck
Acting LAHECC Secretary
