Chairman Ray Egan called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.
Ray Egan distributed the most recent ECC roster and asked members to update
their information.
Jim Abraham introduced Dru Anderson who gave a presentation on the CERT
Supervisor/HAM ready team. The group’s mission is to improve cross-
functional role understanding by creating a consistent team of core
responders. Through better understanding of amateur radio capabilities by
the CERT group and better understanding of CERT capabilities by
amateur radio communicators, LAH disaster response will be more

efficient and effective. Team accomplishments include: an embedded
packet radio setup in the ARC, an exterior antenna for the ARC, and
better understanding of CERT protocol by amateur radio communicators.
Ray Egan informed the ECC that its April meeting is tentatively scheduled to take
place at the LAH ARC so the facility can be toured during the meeting.
Council member Gary Waldeck said that keys for the lock on LAH pathway gates
have been placed in the ARC, CERT trailers, and the EOC.
Jim Abraham moved to approve revised February 2011 ECC minutes. The
motion passed unanimously.
Dru Anderson reported that a CERT training drill is scheduled for May 22, 2011.
Andrew Kirk asked if there is a standard list and ordering for radio frequencies
used by the ECC. Jim Abraham suggested that the backup LAH repeater
frequency be added to the list. Sam Wood will look for the software
originally used to program the ECC-issued ICOM W32A radios.
EC Edwin Jones shared an updated map of the Santa Clara County packet radio
network. He also distributed updated stickers for Town and County DSW
cards. Dru Anderson asked if a list of LAH AECs was available. She
wondered whether it would be possible to make public the qualifications
for becoming an AEC.
Gary Waldeck reported that a combination lock has been installed on one of the
doors to the EOC radio room.
Ray Egan reported that the forms for message handling required within LAH
have been standardized.
Ray Egan reported that Al Whaley and Terry Smith had both missed three
consecutive meetings unexcused and were thus being made associate
members of the ECC.
Ray Egan solicited volunteers for Town net control duty. He suggested that
members currently using a HT to work the net considering purchasing a
JPole antenna.
Dru Anderson shared and recommended a flashlight she had recently
purchased.
Sam Wood introduced some new repeater technology.
At 8:13 pm Bob Anderson moved to adjourn the meeting. Edwin Jones seconded
and the motion passed.
