2. At 7 p.m., co-chair Jim Abraham W6EB, along with co-chair Scott Overstreet N6NXI, called
the meeting to order and welcomed the members, associates, and guests to the regular ECC
meeting. Dru noted that the November minutes would be deferred to a later meeting.
3. Public comments from the floor:
a. Scott thanked the many attending who had contributed both in assigned procurement of
ham and related Ham Bake provisions, and thanked those who brought the exquisite
variety of home creations of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts.
b. Dru suggested that there are enough unique recipes that a “Ham Bake Cookbook”
development might be in order. She will pursue volunteers in 2015.
4. Regular Reports:
a. SCC EC report: Ed Jones W7WPO, EC. Ed reminded the group that Los Altos Hills
hams are on the SPECSnet duty for January Monday nights. Bob KC6ZWG, Jim W6EB,
and Ed W7WPO volunteered to share the four SPECSnet sessions.
5. Old Business:
a. There was a reminder that the plans for Tech Talk aspect of the Jan. 6 ECC meeting will
be Carol Starbuck, who will exhibit her custom built “suitcase” radio go-kit.
6. Brief summary of Nov. 10 ECC report to Town Council. Dru, along with Jim and Scott gave
a brief overview of their presentation on Nov. 10 regarding need for consistency,
accommodation, and development of town antenna ordinance. The topic will be before the
town Planning Commission on Dec. 4.
7. New Business:
a. Regarding plans/preparations for 1Q – Feb/Mar Tech talks, Scott noted he would like to
focus over a few minutes on good development of contents for ham “go-kit.”
b. Regarding the Roster update process/summary, Duncan MacMillan highlighted the
recent update to the Rapid Notify process by CERT member Bruce Martin.
8. Co-chairs Jim and Scott encouraged members, associates, and visiting hams to take part in
the various volunteer opportunities as well as in courses that are listed on the
https://www.scc-ares-races.org/activities/events.php SCC County ARES/RACES website.
a. Larry Carr touched on the CERT Recon activities that he and Carol Starbuck are leading.
9. Bob KC6ZWG moved to adjourn, seconded by Andy Kirk. At that time, the members and
guests returned to enjoyment of the many goodies of the Ham Bake and comradery.
Respectfully submitted:
Dru Anderson KG6LAD, ECC Secretary.
